Process additive BYK-P 9912 that acts as an internal release agent.
BYK-P 9912 is an excellent internal release agent that enables a reduction in molding cycle time. It does not hinder paint adhesion or adhesion with adhesives.
Differences between BYK-P 9912 and conventional internal release agents Conventional internal release agents, such as higher fatty acids, typically have a molecular weight of 500 g/mol or less, and they remain in the polymer after curing, gradually migrating to the interface over time. As a result, even if the surface is cleaned immediately after molding, the release agent that remained inside the molded product during storage can cover the interface again, hindering paint adhesion and adhesion with adhesives. BYK-P 9912, on the other hand, has a high molecular weight and a branched molecular structure that does not hinder paint adhesion or adhesion with adhesives, and it does not migrate after polymer curing.
